Mark is a Southern California based hair stylist, currently at Sweet 1017 Hairdressing in Seal Beach, CA.  At the young age of 15, influenced by the music, fashion, and skateboarding scenes, he began experimenting with cutting and coloring his own hair.  This piqued the interest of his friends and peers, and soon he was doing their hair in his parents garage for fun.  Upon graduating from high school, he decided to enroll in cosmetology school.  Soon after, he started his career working for the prestigious Toni&Guy hair salons located throughout Southern California.  After his initial apprenticeship, Mark worked at Toni&Guy as an Artistic Director, specializing in haircutting for 6 years.  During this time, he was able to learn and implement a wide variety of hair cutting techniques from some of the most renowned hair stylists in the industry.

 

In an effort to broaden his scope within the hair industry, Mark decided to immerse himself in a wide variety of educational classes.  From various color technique classes, avante-garde styling classes, Men’s barbering, and Brazilian keratin smoothing classes, Mark gained a well-rounded education within the hair industry.  In order to stay on top of the game, he takes classes and actively engages with media, fashion, and other hairstylists.

 

 He has been an educator, platform artist, and brand ambassador for multiple salons and product companies.   The hair world is constantly evolving and changing, which, for him, is one of the most attractive qualities of the job.  He draws inspiration from fashion, art, film, photography, architecture, and perhaps most importantly, from his travels around the globe. Mark is also well-versed in photography, which has helped to develop his eye for the balance and beauty that has become a trademark of his work. 

 

Mark specializes in customizing a look that enhances each individual.  He pays strong attention to detail and takes in consideration each individuals skin tone, bone structure, eye color, lifestyle, & personal style, keeping the clients goals in mind.  He is known for his intuitive ability to create versatile looks ranging from sophisticated, to beachy, or edgy trends.  He strives to leave a positive impact on his clients, leaving them feeling confident, renewed & excited.
